00:00:03: Welcome to this annual report podcast series where we discuss some of the key developments that shaped Alfie over the past year.
00:00:10: In this episode, We focus on media relations and communications.
00:00:14: This is an area Where Alfie has raised its profile wide in it's reach And further strengthen Its position as a recognized voice for the industry.
00:00:23: I'm joined by Carla Santos from Alfie's communication team.
00:00:26: welcome Carla
00:00:28: Hi Thank you!
00:00:29: Karla.
00:00:29: when You look back at The Past Year What would you say Alfie has achieved in terms of media presence?
00:00:35: I'd say the main achievement is that Alfie's become more visible and also more established.
00:00:43: We are more consistently present at discussions that matter to industry.
00:00:48: There're a few concrete signs.
00:00:51: over the year, Alfie issued nine press releases and organized five events fully dedicated to journalists, and that activity generated more than two hundred articles overall while the number of media requests we handle also rose strongly.
00:01:08: But beyond figures what matters most is really the nature Alfie's increasingly being approached when journalists want perspective on the bigger picture.
00:01:19: So how regulation is evolving?
00:01:21: What is happening in private assets, what trends are shaping European fund landscape?
00:01:27: and our media presence is really rooted in expertise.
00:01:31: This sounds like a lot of work.
00:01:33: Can you tell us what were the main efforts behind all this progress.
00:01:37: A big part was more proactive an more confident approach.
00:01:42: We wanted to do more than respond to incoming requests.
00:01:46: We want it create stronger media moments around Alfie's activity and make sure our voice was present in the important conversations throughout the year.
00:01:56: And that meant several things.
00:01:58: It meant building press outreach around our flagship events, it meant creating opportunities for one-to-one interviews and press exchanges... ...and also making sure media houses had access to all Facebook's people….
00:02:13: …and the publications we produce.
00:02:16: Finally – We invested more time in growing relations with international journalists!
00:02:22: For example, at the Global Asset Management Conference we welcomed thirteen journalists from abroad which generated twenty-eight articles.
00:02:31: And in the private assets conference seven international journalists attended and coverage reached forty three pieces.
00:02:39: then around the London conference more than forty journalists registered.
00:02:45: One particularly important initiative was the London Media Day.
00:02:49: That was very much about deepening relationships with key international titles.
00:02:55: It included one-to-one meetings with journalists from the Financial Times, City Wire Selector and Dignites Europe as well as a roundtable lunch with editors from prestigious and specialized titles.
00:03:07: So overall I would say that effort was more intentional in how we bring Alfie's expertise into wider European and international media conversation.
00:03:18: Carla!
00:03:18: How do you describe the relationship Alfie now has with journalists?
00:03:22: Are there any changes?
00:03:23: Well, those relationships are definitely consolidating.
00:03:28: Journalists start coming to Alfie for explanation or interpretation and informed comments on brother trends – that's fantastic!
00:03:37: That is also a different kind of relationship.
00:03:39: It means there is growing confidence in Alfie as the source that it is knowledgeable balanced useful when complex story needs context.
00:03:48: I think that says a lot about where Alfie stands today.
00:03:52: In the fast-moving environment, journalists are looking for voices that can combine technical knowledge with vision.
00:03:58: Over the past year, Alfie has shown it can play that role!
